Here is what I got Savage model 29, serial # 2459, 23' octagon barrel, ribbed fore arm, and a plain butt stock. It also came with 2 rails each about 1.5' long. One before and the other after the rear sight on the barrel. The rails appear to be very old, they don't look like anything that was put on the gun ten or twenty years ago. 10 with checkered wood & octagon barrels –serial numbers from 1027L to 332xxL. The L was added to the serial on Savage branded guns, a K was used on house brands and an M on Stevens, all these were in the same serial number sequence so the serial numbers reflect the total combined production of all the various versions, including house brands. Sold firearms under the following models and who manufactured them.
